How Cool Is That?!

I have more cool discoveries to share!!  Check ’em out…

  • The Scrap MaBob – I am ordering one of these as we speak!!
  • http://www.bookcrossing.com/ – The latest way to trade books!  Buy book, read book, register book, receive unique number to label your book with, then “release it” wherever you like (coffee shop, park bench, the bus, the sky’s the limit).  When someone finds your book, they can go to the site and write a review of it and you can track the travels of your book and/or read reviews of the book title you released.  There’s even a map of book crossing spots in your area that you can use to go find “released” books to capture for yourself!  Definitely fits with in with  Kind Art and is something I plan to try very soon!!
  • I first discovered Ze Frank through my Canadian friend, Amy, quite awhile back and I just adore him!  He’s always coming up with these little social media projects, collecting snippets of this and that from readers all over the planet and putting it all together into unique and wonderful collaborations to share with the wider world (check out his Ted talk here for some amazing examples).  Well, he’s got something new up his sleeve and it uses a 3d printer, which I talked about here a little while ago (and still think is totallycool).  For this project, Ze is collecting self-portraits, which he plans to print on a 3d printer he’s borrowed.  The plan is to make as many as he can and then display them in a special exhibit at the Santa Cruz Museum of Art.  How cool is that?!  Think he’d settle for a kitty photo??

    • No – but it sure has saved a few unsightly water stains on things I did NOT want water stained! 😀
